THE DESIGN THINKING

A clear hierarchy.
A deliberate first impression.

The hierarchy separates your name, professional focus, and contact details without a large decorative header. Conventional section headings make the body easy to navigate.

Best suited to
Modern professional applications
Content sequence
Profile → Experience → Skills → Education
Personalization focus
Use a precise professional focus rather than a string of adjectives. Keep the summary short enough that the reader reaches your recent experience quickly.
One thing to check
The green accent is optional decoration. Check that the document still reads clearly in grayscale and that dates stay beside the right role.

WHEN TO CHOOSE CURRENT

Choose the layout for the story you need to tell.

Current is a single-column starting point for a resume whose strongest evidence is recent work. A compact introduction and short accent rule lead into the employment history. Use the profile to explain your focus, then let the first role establish it through distinct contributions. Check whether an older position needs the same amount of detail before extending the page. If a long summary pushes the first relevant example down, shorten the summary: the layout works best when the evidence arrives early.

01

A role with a clear next step

Use Current when the vacancy closely resembles work you already do. The opening can name that direction without a long explanation of your career. Give the latest role enough detail to establish the setting and responsibility, then use earlier entries to show progression rather than repeat the same capabilities.

02

Several relevant skills, one main argument

The straightforward body can accommodate tools, communication, and coordination without giving each a competing visual treatment. Choose the capability most central to the application and make it visible in the first experience entry. Supporting skills belong later, where they help a reader interpret the evidence already encountered.

03

An unfamiliar internal title

If your employer used a title outsiders may not recognize, retain it and explain the function in the opening or first bullet. Current provides enough hierarchy to distinguish identity from employment facts. You do not need to replace the official title with the job you want to make the relevance clear.

A FICTIONAL WORKED EXAMPLE

A customer-success specialist makes onboarding visible

In this fictional scenario, Elena has supported software customers for three years. Her resume describes her as adaptable and customer-focused, then repeats support duties under two jobs. She is applying for an onboarding position. Current gives her a short opening, so she uses it to identify onboarding experience and changes the first bullet to show how she helped customers complete setup.

THE STARTING POINT

Helped customers and worked with internal teams.

A MORE USEFUL VERSION

Coordinated new-customer setup with support and implementation colleagues, keeping unresolved access questions visible until the responsible team confirmed the next step.

The revision gives a recognizable workflow and a contribution. It does not imply that Elena controlled every technical decision or that all customers became successful because of her work. In Current, that concrete first example can carry the argument that the summary introduces. The older role can then establish a foundation in support without competing with the more relevant onboarding evidence.

FROM SAMPLE TO YOUR RESUME

Give every section a clear job.

01

Write the focus before the profile

Start with the work you want the reader to recognize, such as customer onboarding or business reporting. Then write a profile that connects that focus to experience you actually have. Keep the same central idea in the first role, so the opening does not make a promise the body never supports.

02

Give recent work a distinct purpose

Choose three or four contributions that reveal different parts of the latest job. One can establish delivery, another a difficult decision, and another collaboration. If two bullets say essentially the same thing, combine or remove one. The compact introduction leaves space for useful distinctions rather than a longer list.

03

Check the transition into older roles

Read the document from the latest position into the previous one. The reader should see what changed in responsibility, setting, or complexity. Keep dates close to the correct role and shorten earlier detail that adds nothing new. Save a text copy before leaving the editor so that the selected evidence is retained.

THE FINAL EDIT

Keep the design working for your content.

01

An opening made of adjectives

Motivated, dynamic, and results-driven can occupy the space where Current needs a professional focus. Replace them with the work, audience, or system you know. The design already provides a clean introduction; the wording should add information rather than repeat the impression of professionalism.

02

Treating the accent as the message

The colored rule can orient the eye, but it cannot establish a specialty. Do not rely on color to distinguish important from optional information. Read the text in grayscale and confirm that the name, focus, dates, and section headings still explain the page on their own.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Questions about Current.

Is Current only for experienced applicants?

No. An early-career applicant can use it when projects and practical experience support a clear direction. Keep educational or volunteer settings labeled and use the opening to explain relevance without pretending the history is longer than it is.

How long should the profile be?

Use enough space to identify your area and useful experience, then reach the evidence. If the profile repeats every skill and achievement below, shorten it. Current works best when the first role arrives before the reader loses the main point.

Can I change the section sequence here?

The browser layout keeps Profile, Experience, Skills, and Education in its set sequence. Adjust emphasis through the text and entry detail. If another document order is essential, use the downloaded text as a starting point in a suitable editor.

PUT THE IDEA TO WORK

Make a promotion visible without repeating the same job

Fictional practice case: Mara became a service coordinator after working as a scheduling assistant at the fictional North Quay Repairs. She is using Current for another coordination role. Her draft repeats the same appointment-booking bullet beneath both positions, so the change in responsibility disappears.

  1. 01

    Use the opening for direction

Write a short profile about scheduling and service coordination. Current reaches the work history quickly; spend that space establishing the relevant practice instead of listing every personal strength or retelling the promotion.

  2. 02

Give each position a different job

Under the coordinator role, explain how Mara handled competing booking priorities and escalated unresolved capacity questions. Under the assistant role, retain the earlier responsibility for checking appointment details. Keep both actual titles and dates.

  3. 03

    Choose the meaningful contrast

The progression is from maintaining information to coordinating decisions around it. Remove a repeated telephone-duty sentence before shortening the bullet that explains the new responsibility. The green rule cannot establish that difference for the reader.

THE CHECK THAT MATTERS

Read only the two role entries. Can you identify what changed without the profile? If the latest title supplies all the apparent seniority, strengthen the evidence beneath it rather than enlarging the heading.
